How should we define science fiction?
Read these definitions. Is it a recognizable formula? How do we distinguish science fiction from fantasy or horror? What are the key defining characteristics of science fiction? Are there "classics" of science fiction and if so how are they defined? What makes them unique? How much does real science play into what we see on the big screen?
